Chill in the Flats

Chill on Antelope Flats
16 x 18
Oil on linen

This painting comes from a study I did a couple of wks ago. It started out as a cold (20 degrees) and a lot of wind, which didn't help any. I tried to capture some of the chill i felt, but I also thought there was more warmth in the clouds than on the ground. Maybe I was thinking "anywhere is warmer than here right now" and I decided to push more warmth of the clouds.
